Artwork is mounted on a wood frame (canvas pre-stretched, as with a finished canvas painting) and secured to the acrylic back panel using Velcro strips — one side adhered to the backing, the other to the canvas-wrapped wood frame. This allows the piece to be positioned, removed, or replaced without disassembling the entire box. Standard acrylic already blocks most UVB rays, but allows a significant portion of UVA light through — one of the main causes of fading, yellowing, and pigment breakdown over time. UV-filtering acrylic is formulated to block up to 98% of both UVA and UVB rays, offering substantially stronger protection for artwork, textiles, and paper-based pieces. This upgrade does increase material cost — typically a moderate premium over standard acrylic, depending on order volume and panel thickness. We generally recommend it for pieces displayed under direct sunlight, strong retail or gallery lighting, or intended for long-term display; for short-term use or low-light settings, standard acrylic is usually sufficient.
